Words have the power
to soften pain
caused by grief and loss
with a gentle touch of understanding.
Words have the power
to heal emotional wounds,
softly covering them
with a blanket of kindness and love.
Words have the power
to motivate
with a positive nudge
or outright encouragement.
Words also have the power
to cause grief and pain
when said with malice
and complete disrespect.
Words also have the power
to create emotional wounds,
as the knife of negativity
leaves deep and lasting marks.
Words also have the power
to discourage future steps
when laced with disdain
or dripping with disappointment.
Words have power
so choose them wisely,
use them carefully,
and think of others first.
I hope the inspiration for this exceptional poem isn’t something that someone said to you recently. If so, I wish blessings and healings on your wounded soul.
