Graffiti: The Heart’s Story

Today’s prompt for Writing 101: Poetry is graffiti.

A mixture of words and pictures upon a wall,
swirls of color to tell one and all,
the piece of a story of someone’s life,
whether it be of love or filled with strife.

Expression through images of the heart.
Is it graffiti or is it art?
The deepest of feelings intertwined
in vibrant images popping from the mind.

For this jumble of colors is his way
to express to all what he has to say.
Words through twisted pictures
become a semi-permanent fixture.

The fact that is appears as “ugly” graffiti to some
doesn’t lessen the meaning of the story his heart has sung.

  1. “The fact that is appears as “ugly” graffiti to some
doesn’t lessen the meaning of the story his heart has sung.” — so true and as you say “swirls of color to tell one and all,
the piece of a story of someone’s life.” A great poem filled with truth.
